These variables get resolved under the current logged in user. Therefore, they should be used in environments where a single profile configuration is to be used to back up the current user's folder such as My Documents/Documents on different operating systems such as Windows XP, 7 and 10. Since the location of the My Documents or Documents folder is different on these operating systems, using the %Personal% variable will dynamically resolve to the correct location on each system. This simplifies configuration and keeps the profile generic and able to be utilized on multiple operating systems.
