Is there a list of known applications which may interfere with VSS functionality?

VSS will not work if the following applications or services also utilize VSS at the same time:

  • Symantec Backup Exec

  • Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR)

  • HP StorageWorks VSS Hardware Provider
